Mika Karhumaa’s Author Page on Facebook
This is what many of you have been waiting for—Facebook. Another addition to my social media presence. I have simply been waiting for the right moment to launch this. Starting a new channel in the middle of writing processes is more challenging than one might imagine. Finishing the trilogy provides some necessary breathing space. Summer is also a time for myself, but it is equally a time to explore and learn something new. For me, this summer has been about creating Facebook pages related to my publications and affiliated activities.
And yes—I know I have been more active on LinkedIn. It’s not that LinkedIn is somehow a priority; rather, it simply fits the rhythm of my writing moments. Many of my colleagues are also there. Over time, I have developed my own routine for managing the outside world, balancing private life, professional life, and social media. Facebook, however, has always been on my mind. Now that my work as an artist manager and lecturer is more settled, it feels like the right time to expand with new features.
Everything I feel is worth sharing will appear on this page. My greatest joy has always been engaging in live situations—much like the interaction during lectures, or as a manager in negotiations. Depending on how quickly I learn to use Facebook’s tools, I will gradually share all the interesting—and less interesting—material there.
One thing to mention: I have enjoyed numerous Skype conversations with my readers whenever requested. When the writing process feels lonely, a good conversation truly enlivens the spirit. I am extremely grateful for these discussions.
I hope you find my book-related Facebook page interesting. Of course, it will not replace my other social media channels, and there will certainly be some overlap. See you there!
